What to do if an Attorney wants you to pay money.

If an attorney contacts you and wants you to either do something or pay money it is important to take a number of actions.

First, do not communicate with the attorney. The only thing you need to do is say “I will be getting Counsel.”

Second, try to gather all relevant information that has an inkling of importance. Print it out and put it in a folder. Your attorney will thank you later.

Third, contact three attorneys. And interview all of them. Go with the attorney that you feel cares about you and your problems. Make sure the attorney you choose has the “Heart of a Teacher,” meaning they make sure you understand the legal process. And always remember you are the boss; not the attorney you hire.
